Avoid costly mistakes early
As with most things - 'a fool and his money are soon parted’.
Now whilst most people that have made money are not fools, they are usually entering a market they are not experts in.
Whilst there are the less scrupulous people in all worlds you can still buy a bad car from a good source.
Caution is required at the beginning - not after it has all gone pear shaped - so a long in depth conversation will take place.
Understanding your needs
It usually starts with ‘why?’...
• Investment?
• I always fancied one…?
• I want to race cars?
• Classic or modern or supercar?
• Partner or wife involved and happy with your ambition?
• Budget?
• Storage?
• Repairers or preparers if racing?
That’s a long conversation with many side issues.
For example, racing. It is always, unless you are professional or semi-professional, better for the long term to choose who you want to race with rather than choose the car and find out you are with some people that aren’t your cup of tea!
